photo [Andrew Alsentzer] Dr. Andrew Alsentzer, M.D.
  Vanderbilt University

Dr. Alsentzer is a Nashville native. He attended Vanderbilt University for undergraduate and medical school. He then moved to Charleston, SC, where he completed his pediatric residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is excited to be back home with his friends and family, serving the population of middle Tennessee.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and their 110-pound lab mix. His interests include photography, sports, travel, and trying out new Nashville restaurants.

  Vanderbilt University

Dr. Anderson is from Moline, Illinois, and attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and then University of Wisconsin, Madison for his pediatric internship and residency. He spent one additional year of training as Registrar in Paediatrics at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in England. He has been with Children's Clinic since it was in its original building in Donelson, and likes to credit Dr. Wadlington, Dr. Doak, and Dr. Gray for teaching him how to provide the best pediatric health care. He is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys being a teacher both to students and parents, especially on matters of childhood growth and development.

He and his wife, Jody, have one daughter who is now a teenager. Dr. Anderson is very involved with the Cumberland Pediatric Foundation and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Outside of the Clinic, Dr. Anderson is involved with Young Life and has enjoyed medical mission trips to Honduras with Providence World Ministries. His family enjoys working on the farm with their horses and donkeys.

He also enjoys running, cycling, golf, and bluegrass music.



Dr. Tabitha Casilli, M.D.Dr. Tabitha Casilli, M.D.
East Tennessee State University

Dr. Casilli was born and raised in Wilson County. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University where she graduated Cum Laude. She then headed to Johnson City to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree from East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine and then completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Casilli is a board certified pediatrician and a delegate of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a special interest in child development and a passion for supporting early childhood education. Both Dr. Casilli and her husband, John, a pediatric nurse, are challenged to implement all of their education into the experience of being parents to their son, Sylar. "Our family is very excited to 'give back' to our community in Wilson County and will be diligent to engage with the families with which we work and serve."

  Medical College of Georgia

Dr. Wendy Hitch, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a board certified pediatrician who has been with Children's Clinic East since 2001. She graduated from Houghton College in New York with a B.S. in Biology and obtained a Masters degree from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. She has a Ph.D. in the immunology of tropical diseases from Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. She completed her Medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia and finished a pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dr Hitch is a supporter of Young Life. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Special interests include travel medicine and adoption medicine. She has travelled extensively providing medical care in underserved areas such as Mexico,Ethiopia, India, Turkey, Zimbabwe, Haiti, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and the Philippines.

  Vanderbilt University

Heather Hocking is a board certified nurse practitioner. She is from Jacksonville, Florida and first came to Nashville to earn her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University. She continued there for her Master of Science in Nursing and has been happy to live and practice in the Middle Tennessee area ever since.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys running, soccer, cooking, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends. She is thrilled to be part of the Children's Clinic East family.

  East Tennessee State University

Dr. Jennings was born and raised in Nashville and earned her bachelor's degree from Lipscomb University. She attended East Tennessee State University for medical school and completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is board certified in Pediatrics. She enjoys travel, gardening, cooking, reading and SEC football.

  Meharry Medical College

Margreete Johnston MD is a graduate of Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee. Tulane University in New Orleans provided her residency training. Prior to entering private practice, Dr Johnston worked for the Public Health Service in a physician shortage area.

She is Board Certified by the AAP and active in community advocacy. Dr. Johnston's primary focus is general pediatrics, birth through college age youth, with an emphasis on preventive medicine.

As a certified lactation consultant, Dr Johnston is able to help families establish breastfeeding. Her hobbies include art, photography and travel. Her husband Bill Doak, MD, helped establish Childrens Clinic of Donelson. They have two sons.

  East Tennessee State University

Dr. Kirshner helps guide Children's Clinic East as its Managing Physician. He is a native of Nashvile who finished his undergraduate degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and his medical degree at East TN State University. He then moved to Houston, TX where he completed his pediatric residency training at Baylor College of Medicine. He subsequently practiced in Houston for the following seven years before moving back home to Tennessee. Dr. Kirshner is board certified in pediatrics. He and his wife Susan have a daughter named Leah. His hobbies include photography and computers as well as playing ice hockey and tennis.

  Vanderbilt University

Dr. LaLonde is originally from Overland Park, Kansas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Santa Cruz in California. She attended Vanderbilt School of Medicine and also did her pediatric residency at Vanderbilt. She is board certified in pediatrics and is on the clinical faculty of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Dr. LaLonde and her husband Mike have four wonderful children- Mikey, twins Joshua and Benjamin, and their youngest Elizabeth Clare. In her free time, Dr. LaLonde enjoys playing with her children, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

  University of Tennessee

Dr. Viviana Lavin completed her training in Pediatrics at Miami Children's Hospital. She completed a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Vanderbilt University. She is a board certified Pediatrician. Married to a local Internist and mother to two children. She enjoys cooking and exercise and running marathons.

Dr. Donna Woodall Lett is a native middle Tennessean who has been practicing at Children's Clinic East since 2002. After graduating from Austin Peay State University, Dr. Lett received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. She completed her pediatric residency training in Columbia, South Carolina at Richland Memorial Hospital/USC, Columbia. She practiced pediatrics in South Carolina and later moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she was an assistant professor of pediatrics at TC Thompson Children's Hospital/UT Chattanooga. Her practice experience includes Level 2 NICU care, newborn nursery, pediatric emergency department, child sexual abuse evaluation, resident and medical student education, and outpatient pediatrics. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of AOA Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Lett lives in Lebanon with her husband and daughter. She and her family are very active members of their church and school communities. In her free time she enjoys running, weight training, cycling and singing.

Dr. Lett is grateful for the opportunity to practice in Wilson County and to actively participate in the health and well-being of young family members.

  University of Mississippi

Dr. Mehrotra was born in India and moved to the U.S. at the age of 1 1/2 years of age. He grew up in Mississippi and attended Millsaps College and then went on to the University of Mississippi for medical school and residency. Dr. Mehrotra finished his Pediatrics residency in 1997 and served an extra year as Chief Resident at the University of Mississippi. He joined Children's Clinic East in 1998. Hobbies and interests include tennis, water sports and swimming, golf, hiking, biking, and being an ardent fan of his children's Lacrosse teams and also the Nashville Predators. Dr. Mehrotra has been married to his wife Seema since 1993 and has two children. Serving the community in his pediatric role has been "truly fulfilling and a pleasure" according to Dr. Mehrotra.

  Louisiana State University School of Medicine

Dr. Moore was born and raised in Louisiana. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from LSU with a BS in Biological Sciences. She then attended the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport where she graduated a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Her pediatric internship and residency were spent at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since finishing residency, Dr. Moore has practiced in a variety of settings, including nursery/NICU, urgent care/ER, hospital, and private practice. She and her husband Will, an orthopedic surgeon, practiced as long term volunteers at a mission hospital in rural Kenya. They live in Nashville with their young son and devoted dog. Dr. Moore is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  University of Mississippi

Dr. Orr is originally from Jackson, Mississippi. He attended undergraduate school at Vanderbilt University and the University of Mississippi. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, then completed his pediatric residency at Scott and White/Texas A&M in Temple, TX, going on to work for Scott and White in Waco, TX for twelve years. Wanting to get back closer to family and to the Nashville area, he has recently relocated to Lebanon.

Dr. Orr and his wife Kim have two daughters. They love to travel and go to concerts. He enjoys teaching and in fact was an assistant professor of inpatient medicine while with Scott and White. His interests outside of medicine include trail running and marathoning.

Dr. Shepherd is originally from Mississippi. He received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and received his medical degree from University of Mississippi. He also completed his residency at the University of Mississippi. After completing his training, Dr. Shepherd practiced as a board certified pediatrician at North Mississippi Pediatrics in Tupelo, MS for five years. He joined Children's Clinic East in July 2004. Dr. Shepherd and his wife have two children. His outside interests include college sports and spending time with his family.

Amy Taylor is a native of Nashville, who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Belmont University. She worked as a registered nurse for nine years prior to returning to graduate school. Her nursing experience includes intensive care, outpatient surgery, an allergy & ENT clinic, and occupational health clinic. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University. She is a board certified nurse practitioner.

Amy is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two children. She and her family are very involved in both their church and school communities. In her spare time, Amy enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Wells is a native of Middle Tennessee who completed her undergraduate degree at David Lipscomb University. She received her medical degree from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Dr. Wells and her husband spend most of their leisure time with their three sons Michael, Christopher, and Andrew. She also enjoys serving as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts.
